Going to see Santa

We went to the mall a few weeks ago and saw Santa...from the third floor looking down! We watched as all the kids lined up to see him and tried to see if Micah really wanted to actually go up to him or not. After shopping around for a couple of hours Micah finally said she wanted to go say hi to Santa. We saw that the line was not very long so Aimee took Micah to jump in line. The nice little Elf that was standing by the entrance informed us that Santa needed to take a break and wouldn't be back for an hour. It was a little hard to explain to a 2 year old that Santa needs to eat lunch and by the time he came back she was sleeping. We left the mall that day without seeing Santa and it was the next day that we all came down with the flu. We kept telling Micah that we would go back so she could see Santa but once Grandma and Grandpa got there they were sick and we didn't do much. Finally on the eve of Christmas Eve we headed out to a different mall to finally sit on Santa's lap. When we got there we saw the line wrapped around several times but Aimee took Micah to the end to begin the one hour wait. While standing in line Micah asked if she had to sit on his lap or if she could just wave at him. Aimee asked her several times if she really wanted to wait and see Santa up close or if she just wanted to wave at him from behind the fence. It suddenly hit the young two year old that she would have to sit on this strange man's lap and as much as she loved him she was not willing to do that. So we waved and then Micah posed for a few photos! Maybe next year!

Santa is behind those trees!
