Our first idea was to put the girls in matching shirts and have them lay by the tree. They love to lie next to each other head to head but capturing a decent picture was not easy!

I am not sure why these two are up and down.

Then we tried sitting by the tree with matching shirts on but this didn't come together either. Taryn smiled before or after the picture and most of the time she was just ticked. Micah got distracted and wanted to hug and kiss Taryn or just got tired and let her go.
This one was in the running for awhile but we thought Taryn looked like a boy.

Mommy's foot got in this one!
Micah was ready to be done.

Then we decided to forget the tree altogether and move to the couch. This one was in the running but Taryn looked like she was going to sneeze!

"Seriously, you want me to do what?"

Next we decided to try and do individual pictures but decided against it.
Then Aimee got a fun idea to prop the girls up on the back of the couch and get the manger scene in it. This was the very first picture and was almost THE picture. Look at how nicely everything and one fits into the shot. But those pesky kids WERE NOT LOOKING!
Later that same day Aimee propped Taryn up next to Buckley and Grandma started taking pictures. The pictures were so cute but missing a key member of the family. We seriously considered photo shopping Micah in.
How cute is that?

Once Micah got up there Buckley was done!

Micah was in no mood to listen to direction.

Finally we got organized and it doesn't look too bad. Buckley even stayed for the shot but Aimee couldn't get past Michael's dangling arm and the angel wings on his head. We had a really good laugh at these!

We really should start now trying to get the picture ready for next year! The picture that did make it out with the Christmas letter ended up being really cute! Once we finally send the letter we'll post the picture.
