This is Buckley the first day we brought him home! He was so tiny and afraid of the steps!

March 2005
We took Buckley to see Aimee's mom at the nursing home in Alexandria. He was a big hit with all of the residence and Aimee's mom loved him!
Buckley was always a heavy sleeper and even when he was a puppy he snored really loud!

April 2005
Buckley and the guinea pigs got along really well. Buckley was so tiny he could fit into their cage! Here Ginger is showing Buckley around her home!
June 2005
Buckley loved to run! Many times he would get out of the house and take off running. We would have to jump in the car and look for him. Thankfully he loved people and would run right up to them. Many times neighbors called and said they had found him. Buckley was not a good hunter but somehow he caught this chipmunk...it may have already been dead! He was very proud of himself and just carried it around in his mouth forever!
January 2006
Buckley's first birthday! Yes, we threw him a party and made him a cake! You can tell by Aimee's belly that a lot had changed in a year! Aimee's belly wasn't the only belly getting bigger though. Buckley had grown up to be a very big 1 year old!
April 2006
Buckley was very excited to meet his new baby sister Micah. He was very protective of her and would come and check on her from time to time. By this time Buckley was quite the portly dog. He was a good eater and we were not very good at saying no!
December 2006
Buckley and Sammy are two peas in a pod. They love to play together whether they are fighting or chasing each other or just snuggling.
June 2007
Throughout his life Buckley has always loved being outside. He loves going for walks and playing in the backyard. Even with all of that play time Buckley still packed on the pounds.
March 2008
We took Buckley to the vet and of course they told us he was overweight...we were well aware of that! What we didn't realize was that we were feeding Buckley and Sammy 5 times what they were supposed to be eating in a day! We quickly changed his diet and the pounds started to drop!
August 2008
In a few short months both Sammy and Buckley had lost 10 pounds! Here is Buckley the day we brought Taryn home from the hospital! As Grandpa says, "He is a mere shadow of his former self!"

January 2009
Buckley loves keeping up with Sammy and the girls even though he is now four years old. Throughout our moving experiences he did go through a rough patch but ever since we moved back he seems to be back to his normal self! It is amazing what dropping half your weight will do!
